SCC

The role of the School Community Council is to build shared responsibility among parents, the community, and schools for student learning and well-being and to lead parent-community involvement in school planning and improvement. Over the years Fort Qu'Appelle schools have had a joint SCC.  At the beginning of the school year, we received permission from the Ministry of Education to split the SCCs, and have separate SCCs with separate meetings and budgets.

Your Bert Fox SCC meets roughly six times per year.  Anyone is welcome to attend!  For more information, “like” us on Facebook – “Fort Qu’Appelle School Community Council” or join our mailing list by emailing us at [email protected]

The SCC often seeks family members to help with various events. If you are willing to volunteer, let us know at school, or contact one of the members. An example would be working the canteen at the Graduation Powwow or a sporting event.

Current school year minutes are provided.  Any minutes prior are readily available on request.

What's New in February 2025?
We are hosting Madison Cameron for parents and caregivers on February 10th at 7 pm. This is a great presentation for parents. You will learn about the latest in social media and how to help keep your children safe online.  One question to ask your child is, "Do your friends use any APPs their parents don't know about?"  We guarantee you will learn about apps you have never heard of, and our children are likely using them. We highly recommend tuning in, either in person or online.

-We are having a bingo in Lebret on April 3rd. This is a sports and activities merchandise bingo. Prizes will be things that kids can use outside throughout the spring, summer, and fall!

-Staff Appreciation Week is coming up and we have a full week planned for the BFCHS staff.

-Part of our role is advocating for parents. Stay tuned for some information and ways to provide feedback to the schools about things parents and caregivers have questions about or need more information on.
