Nutrition Program
Bert Fox offers a comprehensive nutrition program for all students. The goal of the program is to provide healthy food for growing minds. All food is free for students. The program operates as follows:
8:30 AM: The server is open for a quick breakfast. It may be a little different each day, but you can usually find cereal and milk, cheese strings, yogurt, boiled eggs, and either muffins of granola bars.
10 AM: At break, we open the canteen for snacks. The nutrition coordinator is responsible for ensuring there are healthy options, including a protein option.
12:20: The nutrition coordinator makes a daily lunch special that is available to all students. These are things like soups, stews, hearty salads, etc... They are not always hot but are intended to get students through the day.
Snacks are available on the regular. Generally, staff keep granola bars, apple sauce etc... in their classrooms, or students can ask staff. There are always snacks in the office!
If you would like to donate to the program, contact the school and we will be happy to work with you. This can be monetary or in the form of items.
